Community Impact Fund

The Indigenous Solidarity Working Group issues funds of up to $250 via the Community Impact Fund, aiming to support Indigenous grassroots sustenance initiatives that support community wellness.

Since March 2020, ISWG has supported over 50 initiatives serving on-reserve & off-reserve Onkwehonwe / Indigenous community members.

Types of Support.

 

Funds have supported food basket and gift card programs for Onkwehonwe / Indigenous community members in the city of Hamilton, the development of community food gardens at Six Nations, Indigenous art projects and grassroots organizations, emergency stipends for families, and more.

In the case of emergency stipends, one CIF application per household will be processed except for in exceptional circumstances. If you are applying under an exceptional circumstance please provide a short explanation in your CIF application (below).
